The NRA Basic Pistol course is a requirement to obtain your Connecticut pistol permit. The objective of the basic pistol course is to teach the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for the safe and proper use of pistols and revolvers. The course covers the parts of pistols and ammunition, how pistols and ammunition function, safe firearm handling, shooting positions, cleaning, and live fire exercises.
After completing this one-day NRA Basic Pistol course, which we teach, you will be able to apply for your Connecticut pistol permit and permits in other states. The objective of the course is to teach the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for the safe and proper use of pistols and revolvers. The Connecticut pistol permit is recognized in 18 states. A Florida pistol permit application is supplied during the class which will allow you to carry a pistol in a total of 37 states which are shaded gray below.

All classroom materials, firearms, ammunition and all other needed range equipment are included.
In order to obtain a Connecticut State Permit to Carry Pistols and Revolvers you must be 21 years of age, complete this course, and apply through your local police department.
The classroom portion will take place at our training facility. The shooting portion will take place the same day at a Wolf’s Indoor range about 30 minutes away from our training facility. Directions will be given the day of the class.
